Breaking into the world of professional wrestling is a lot harder than it looks. If you think you can get by with just good looks and a solid bod, then you’ve got to rethink your career path. Being a good professional wrestler means being able to entertain crowds with impressive moves and charisma. This is why John Cena has become a household name in many homes across the globe.
Where It All Started
John Felix Anthony Cena, born April 23, 1977, is the first of five brothers. His parents, John Cena Sr. and Carol Cena raised him and his brother in their humble home in West Newbury, Massachusetts. John attended Cushing Academy and moved on to the Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. There, he became an active member of the football team where he wore the number 54. This number would appear in many of his merchandise as a professional wrestler. He graduated in 1998 with a degree in exercise physiology and soon after, started a career in body building.
In 1999, he entered the world of professional wrestling through the Ultimate Pro Wrestling brand. Here, he became a favourite among crowds and quickly earned the attention of many talent scouts in the audience. He moved on to work with the World Wrestling Entertainment brand where he would become the hip-hop wresting icon we all love (and hate.)
John Cena’s character was that of a rapper and hip-hop artist turned wrestling professional. While many audience members didn’t like him very much, he was great at drawing in crowds and always managed to put on a show for his viewers. John Cena then tried to expand his horizons and explored the music and film industry where he has met significant success. Today, John Cena is regarded as one of the best talents to have ever come out of the WWE, running a close second to talent triple threat, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Fame and Net Worth
John Cena thanks his professional wrestling career, impressive acting and musical performances, merchandise and brand, and his live appearances and TV show appearances for his hefty $35 million USD net worth. Cena has numerous properties all over the United States and also has an impressive collection of luxury and sports cars. When he’s not out making the most of his talents, he’s on vacation with his wife, who he likes to spend time with at international holiday destinations.
